Ruth I. Buckley, Worth Township (Stoneboro), formerly of Main Street, Sandy Lake, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after a period of failing health. She was 81.
Born Nov. 27, 1934, in Wolf Creek Township, she was a daughter of Donald Reed and Sara Velma Baker Weber.
Mrs. Buckley attended Montgomery Country School in Millbrook and graduated from Grove City High School in 1952.
Ruth worked in the cafeteria for Lakeview School District for 30 years, working in the high school, and then retired as the supervisor at Oakview Elementary School in 2000.
She was of the Protestant faith and taught Sunday school for several years at Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church.
Ruth enjoyed visiting and having coffee with friends and loved going to yard sales.
She was a blessing to many and loved by all, especially by being kind and taking care of all the children who crossed her path. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She married Donald Eugene Buckley on Aug. 20, 1953, and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2015.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Buckley, with whom she made her home in Stoneboro; three sons, Donald L. Buckley and his wife Tammy, Gary D. Buckley and his wife Kimberly, and Thomas E. Buckley, all Greenville; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy A. Minor and her husband Robert, Jackson Center; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Weber and Janet Weber; and two brothers, D. Richard “Dick” Weber and his wife Mary Ellen, and John W. “Pete” Weber, all Grove City.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel “Fred” Weber, Charles A. “Chuck” Weber and James Edward “Ed” Weber.
