Robert J. Martin

Robert J. Martin of Burlington passed away at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro at the age of 81.

He was born in Burlington and graduated from Wilbur Watt High School. In high school Robert was known as “Boathouse Martin” while playing football and competing in track and field. He also competed in the Junior Olympics in track and field.

Bob worked for Bell Telephone and retired from Lucent Industries after many, many years of service.

Bob was an easy person to get along with, someone you could easily become friends with. He enjoyed traveling, especially his annual vacation to Puerto Vallarta and his numerous trips to Mexico. Bob was huge football fan and cheered on many Packer’s and Notre Dame games.

Husband of the late Nadine, he is survived by his daughter, Johnna Raymond; grandchildren, Iysha, and Kevin,; sister, Theresa Cramer; brother, John Martin; niece, Dianna Moore (Earle); great nephew, Bill McGee Jr.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family invites friends to his viewing and funeral Monday, Feb. 1. Viewing will be held at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Holly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Burlington County Animal Alliance, 35 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ 08060.
