Nancy M. Allen, 93, formerly of Strasburg, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Masonic Village. She was the wife of the late Woodrow Allen.
Throughout high school, she worked as a waitress at the General Sutter Inn and loved it. She loved being a waitress so much that she made it her lifelong career. She worked at the Strasburg Hotel for over 30 years. Nancy loved when people would give her a hard time so she could set them straight! Her favorite part of being a waitress was working with people. She loved to make people happy.
Nancy was a Charter member of the former Lancaster Chapter #501, Order of the Eastern Star.
Born in Warwick Township, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella (Eckert) McClune. Nancy is survived by a son, J. Robert “Bob” married to Doris (Shaubach) Allen of Strasburg; a daughter, Brenda Lee (Allen) married to Marvin Class of Cave Creek, Arizona; her grandchildren, Jeff Allen, Mindy Class, Kris Weiss and Melissa Duguid; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Weiss, Madyson Duguid and Mark Duguid and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Walters, and two brothers, Donald and George McClune.
Private interment at the convenience of the family.
