Moore, Anna Mae

Anna Mae Moore, born December 1, 1920, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, died on January 17, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living. She had celebrated her 95th birthday this past December. The daughter of Frank W. and Kathryn M. Bybee, she grew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania and graduated from Hershey High School in 1938.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Moore, Sr. in 1990, son, Richard C. Moore in 1983, and grandson, Kevin W. Moore, in 2009.
Anna Mae and Bill were married in 1942 in Denver, Colorado where Bill was stationed in the Army at Lowry Field. They later moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Bill trained as a pilot in the Army Air Force. After the war they returned to Pennsylvania, where they lived in Harrisburg and Susquehanna Twp. for the remaining years of their lives.
They enjoyed traveling and made trips to numerous countries in Europe, Scandinavia and Russia, as well as yearly vacations in Ocean City, New Jersey. They frequently entertained friends at their week-end cottage in Perry County.
She loved antiquing and monthly lunches with her group of childhood friends as they explored nearby towns.
She was a member of Progress Immanuel Presbyterian Church, retired member of Susquehanna Twp. School District Volunteer Program, Susquehanna Golden Agers, and a retired driver for Susquehanna Twp. Senior Van – Indian Wheels, which she drove for many years.
Anna Mae is survived by her son, William E. Moore, Jr. (Bill) and wife Connie of Puyallup, WA; granddaughters Shelley M. Ballestrazze of Tigard, OR and Gretchen M. Melton of Issaquah, WA; two great-granddaughters of Houston, TX and Vancouver, WA and two great-grandsons of Seattle, WA; and one great-great-granddaughter of Vancouver, WA.
A private family service will be planned.
