John W. Bishop

John W. Bishop, 63, of Bangor, formerly of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, Jan. 16, 2016, at the Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center, Hometown.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late William and Jenny (Bush) Bishop. John graduated from East Stroudsburg High School, and was employed by Banner Steel of Stroudsburg until they relocated.
John attended First Baptist Church, East Stroudsburg, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were sister Linda Bishop, brothers Leroy James and Rick Bishop, and one stepgrandson, Daniel Buskirk.
Surviving are his stepsons: Frank Refsnider and his wife, Delphine, of Canadensis, and Troy Refsnider of Nesquehoning: his stepdaughters: Tania Kuenbaker and her husband, Christopher, of Kunkletown and Valerie Zebroski and her husband of Seattle, Washington; his nieces, Jamie and Robin Bishop of Stroudsburg; 14 stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may gather from noon until the time of the service Thursday, Jan. 21, at Yanac Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dave Cornell officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
