WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Gale B. Benson Martin, 73, of 256 Overlook Drive passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016. Formerly of Cochranton, she was surrounded by family and friends of Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born Oct. 20, 1942, to Earl and Isabelle Ramp of Sheakleyville.
She is survived by her loving husband, Karl L. Martin, married Oct. 7, 1995, and celebrated 20 years of marriage. She has two daughters, Debra Latta and husband, William, of Cochranton, and Karen Rosetti and husband, Jim, of Chelsea, Ala.; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mark Benson, whom we miss very much.
Gale was a loving wife and devoted mother. She enjoyed doing handiwork and baking. She baked the most perfect pineapple upside down cake and Mom’s cookies were the best.
She worked all of her life as an LPN in Meadville and then moved to Florida, working at Palm Gardens Facility and always taking great pride in her nursing skills and care.
As her wishes, cremation was chosen. The family would like donations to go to support Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, Fla., 33823.
Through our journey, the family wishes to thank the staff at Good Shepherd Hospice. “We could not have done it without you.” As a wife, as a mother, as “Grammie,” we love you.
