Dorothy Marie Andreiuolo Sitterly, 91, a resident of the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, while visiting her daughter Doree of West Lake Village, Calif. Born on Jan. 4, 1925 in Corona, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Francis Andreiuolo and Dorothy Balzer Andreiuolo. She was the widow of Robert J. Sitterly, who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1994.
Dorothy was a gifted dancer and became an instructor by the age of 15, and placed third as an alternate dancer with the Rockettes in New York City. Aside from her duties as a homemaker, she worked as a hostess on Long Island and she also worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. She was of the Catholic faith and she served a number of offices with the Baldwin Historical Society.
Surviving are two children, Glenn Sitterly (Gail) of Fayetteville, and Doree Sitterly of West Lake Village, Calif.; as well as a granddaughter Victoria Lida Sitterly of Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by a brother Frank.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband Robert with graveside services at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2 in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. Chaplain William Kauffman will preside.
