Diane Audrey (Derr) Keeley, 74, of Northumberland, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at her home surrounded by her entire family.
She was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Hazleton, a daughter of the late Carl and Emilie (McCormick) Derr. On Nov. 20, 1965, in the First Presbyterian Church, Northumberland with the Rev. Harry F. Shoaf officiating, she married Fred R. Keeley who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
Diane was a 1959 graduate of Northumberland High School and studied nursing at the Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital of Nursing.
She was employed as a registered nurse at the State Hospital for Crippled Children, Elizabethtown, the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, and Nottingham Village, Northumberland, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Diane enjoyed her flower garden, and counted cross stitch, but the light of her life was spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Julie Keeley, of Northumberland; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Dennis Shaffer, of Sunbury; five grandchildren, Nicole and Alyssa Keeley, Elias, Caleb and Sarah Shaffer; an aunt, Audrey Beeber, of Greene, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
