The Amazing Blanket

Mr. David “Packy” J. Reitmeyer, 87, of Titusville, passed away on Sept. 28, 2017, at the Titusville Area Hospital.

He was born in Pittsburgh on July 15, 1930, to the late Harry and Anna Werwie Reitmeyer.

David graduated from Langley High School, in Pittsburgh.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

David married Elaine Howard Smith on June 4, 1986.

He retired from Cytemp Specialty Steel Corporation after 36 years of employment.

David was a member of the Titusville Elks Lodge 264.

He was an avid golfer, an outdoors sportsman, a member of the “Over the Hill Gang,” which helps with the Gerard Hiking Trail in Oil Creek State Park, and volunteered at the Toy Shop for the handmade gifts for children for the holidays.

David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elaine, of Titusville; two sons, David F. Reitmeyer and wife, Debbie, of Holly Springs, N.C., and Brad Reitmeyer and wife, Marcia, of Titusville; a step-son, Howard Smith, of Lake City; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Lacey, Grant, Ivy, Darcie, Alexia, Zack, and Andie; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was the youngest of 10 siblings, in which they all preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Brown Reitmeyer.

No public services will be observed.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St.
