Brenda L. (Spaid) Smith, 48, of Young Township, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at home.
Born July 10, 1967, in New Kensington, she was a daughter of the late Foster “Fats” and Barbara J. (Shearer) Spaid.
Brenda lived in Young Township for the last 19 years, and was a member of West Lebanon Church of God. She worked as a seamstress, as a baker at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Kittanning, and as a nurse’s aide at Gamble Nursing Home and Woodhaven in Monroeville for 10 years.
Brenda enjoyed camping, casino trips and trips to Ocean City, Md., staying at Three Cheers and Fountain Head. She loved playing bingo, going to the mall and eating at Olive Garden.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, William G. “Willy” Smith; a daughter, Chelsey M.J. Smith, of Young Township; sisters Debbie (David) Rader, of Nowrytown, and Paula Lucas, of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the West Lebanon Church of God, 150 Blackleggs Road, West Lebanon. Additional visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday until the hour of service at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor John Mark Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Elders Ridge Cemetery, Elders Ridge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Saltsburg.
