Thomas M. Kusan, age 71 of Galena sadly passed away late Friday night, August 1, 2017 at the Kobacker House in Columbus surrounded by his family, after a heroic battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

He was born on December 3, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late Matthew and Helen (Coley) Kusan.

He was a graduate of Aquinas High School where he played football.  He also shared his father’s boat and taught many of his classmates how to waterski.  Tom was loved dearly for his friendships and the example he set and will be missed by his 1963 classmates.

Tom was the founder and previous owner of Quality Air Heating and Air Conditioning; a company he proudly sold his son in 2014.  They won the prestigious Carrier Presidents Award for outstanding sales.

He was a member of Charity Newsies and the S.E. Lions Club.  He loved Las Vegas and Hawaii and was able to travel there once again with his wife a few months ago.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Doris; his son Nicholas Kusan and his wife Megan; granddaughters Molly and Lucy Kusan; brother James Kusan and his wife Shirley of Gahanna; sister Judy A. Harrison and her husband Lloyd of Annapolis, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Hospice nurses and staff at Kobacker House for their special care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 18, 2017 at noon at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 E State Route 37, Sunbury, OH 43074.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center.  Friends may call prior to the Mass from 10 AM at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury.

Tom was an unpretentious loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  To commemorate his life, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the Aquinas Endowment fund.
