BAY VILLAGE – Sidney “Sally” D. Valco (nee Day), age 83, of Bay Village, died Sept. 21, 2017.
Born June 28, 1934, to Edward A. and Helen (nee Brainard) Day, she lived in Bay Village for 55 years.
Sally worked in the finance department for Lakewood City Hall for 25 years, retiring in 2003. Previously she worked for Glidden, the Amvets and was a Sunday school teacher at Dover Congregational Church for 10 years.
A lifelong Cleveland Indians fan, she also enjoyed sewing, gardening, bowling and especially spending time with her family and many dogs and cats.
Sally was a caring, wonderful person who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children, Stephen (Katy) Valco, of Hambden Township, Amy Valco, of Smyrna, Ga., and Donna Valco. She was the proud grandmother to Eric Valco, of Mentor. She also leaves her cousins, Tom (Cheryl) Whalen, Jerry (Caroline) Whalen and Patti Whalen Cordon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1975; parents; and Aunt Dorothy Whalen.
Graveside service will be held Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. for family and friends at Resthaven Cemetery, 3700 Center Street, Avon, Ohio.
