PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Mary Juanita “Nita” Reinshagen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully at age 90, on Dec. 17, 2015, at Brandley House Hospice, The Villages, Florida.
A combined memorial service and interment will be held at the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Romulus, this summer for both she and her beloved husband, Robert. The date and time are yet to be finalized.
Nita was a 35-year employee of Bresee’s Department Store in Oneonta. Nita and husband, Robert (Bob) lived in Davenport from 1946 to 1955 and Otego from 1955 to 1988. After retiring, they summered in Romulus and later made a permanent home in Palm Harbor, Florida. Both Nita and Bob were avid organic gardeners all of their married life of 67 years.
Nita was predeceased by husband, Robert, who passed away on Aug. 5, 2013. They had two children, Donald (Gene) Reinshagen (Glenda), Romulus and Karen Lewis (William), The Villages, Florida; three grandchildren, Dirk H. Reinshagen (Michelle) of San Carlos, California, Kara L. Vautour (David) of Norwell, Massachusetts and Jessica H. McNulty (Kevin) of Scituate, Massachusetts; three stepgrandchildren, Mark, Graham and Britt Lewis; four great-granddaughters, Adelaide and Marlena Reinshagen and Harper and Darby McNulty; and four step-great-grandchildren, Miska, Tamia, Meli and Maya Lewis.
Daughter of Ray N. and Mary T. (Robinson) Reeves, Mary Juanita Reeves was born June 18, 1925, in Hartford, Alabama, and attended school in Midland City, Alabama. Nita was one of 11 children. Predeceased by nine of her brothers and sisters, she has one living brother, Jerry Reeves (Donna) of Fairfield, Tennessee.
