AUBURN | Mrs. Margaret A. “Peggy” Coughlin, 65, of 5896 West Lake Road, Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Peggy was born on May 1, 1950, the daughter of John and Margaret Doyle Lucey. She was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle, and married Eamon Coughlin on Aug. 24, 1976. They have been residents of Auburn for the past 10 years, relocating here from Yorktown, N.Y.
A member of St. Alphonsus Church, she enjoyed the Finger Lakes, cooking, crossword puzzles, needlepoint, and kayaking. For the past 60 years along with her family, they have spent summers on Caroga Lake, in her beloved Adirondacks.
Surviving is her husband, Eamon; their children, Eileen M. Coughlin (Andrew Cook), of Rochester, N.Y., and Sean F. Coughlin (Allison Thorpe), of Rochester, N.Y.; siblings, Dr. John Lucey, of South Bend, Ind., Mary Hoskins (Charles), of Warunki, Pa., Richard Lucey (Mary Jo), of Charlotte, N.C., and William Lucey (Norma), of Reading, Mass., and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Mary Coughlin, and her parents.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 in St. Alphonsus Church with the Rev. Timothy Niven, Pastor, as celebrant. A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Farrell’s Funeral Service Inc., 84 South St., Auburn.
