On Sunday, January 3, 2016, James Houston Robinson, Jr. aka “Buddy” was called home to our Father God at Nyack Hospital. He was 72.
Buddy was born to the late Lillian Robinson and James H. Robinson Sr. on March 26, 1943. He retired as a truck driver from Swift Transportation. Buddy was always known as a hard working man, his profession was a mechanic. There was no one that Buddy would not help. He and Bob were two of the funniest men you could ever meet, together they were like brothers. They were known to make anyone laugh on their worst day. Buddy will forever be remembered for his story telling.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Doris Robinson of Fayetteville, NC; loving daughter, Mychiequa Robinson and granddaughter, Rich’ Anne Bagley, both of Fayetteville, NC, Shenika Robinson of Newburgh, NY; son, Lamont Williams of Newburgh, NY; two sisters: Annette Kaiser of New Windsor, NY and Linda Robinson, of Newburgh, NY; two brothers: Ronald Robinson of Newburgh, NY and Harry Lee Robinson of New Windsor, NY; mother and father-in-law, Isabell and Howard Bass of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Ella Best of Chicago, IL; four sisters-in-law: Tena Melvin, Michelle Harriot, Dorsha Jones, and MaeRose Lamb; five brothers-in-law: Jeff Melvin, Larry Melvin, Vince Melvin, Joseph Williams, Sr. and William “Pee Wee” Lamb and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Buddy will be truly missed and loved by many. God Bless.
Buddy will be reconnecting with his sister, Katherine Cassandra Robinson; two brothers: Larry Robinson and Shelton Robinson; nephew, Daryl Bents.
Mr. Robinson will lay in repose from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 12th at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 76 First St., Newburgh, NY 12550. Rev. Lukelen Simpson will officiate. Service begins at 11 a.m. at the church.
