ANDES — Edward “Eddie” P. Callahan, 55, of Andes, passed away on Jan. 3, 2016, at 3:30 a.m.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1960, in Manhasset, to parents Bernard V. Callahan (NYPD) and Angela M. Rinato.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne; son, Michael (NYPD) and daughter, Diana (NYPD). He was the beloved brother of Maureen and Judi and a cherished uncle and godfather.
Retired from the New York Police Department, Eddie was a 9/11 survivor.
He was an avid sportsman, outdoorsman, dart player and motorcycle rider.
He was co-owner of Callahan Catskill Real Estate, a devoted parishioner of St. Anne’s Church and a member of the Andes Town Planning Board. Loved by all and taken too soon, he will be sorely missed.
A wake will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.,Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Hynes Funeral Home in Margaretville.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 8, at the Sacred Heart Church in Margaretville, followed by a committal service in the Andes Cemetery.
