January 23, 2016 Jennie Carbone, 92, of Camillus, passed away Saturday. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse-Camillus area and graduated from Assumption High School. An active communicant of Holy Family Church, Jennie served as cook for the priests for 18 years, was former president of the Altar & Rosary Society, lector and member of the Bereavement Committee. She was a member of Holy Family Seniors, Camillus Seniors and Zeta Circle of Allied Chemical, and co-founder of J&J Tours. She also wrote a senior column for the Camillus Advocate, loved to cook and travel, particularly to the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Jennie was predeceased in 1986 by her husband of 45 years, Jack; sisters, Viola Pandozzi, Anna DeFio and Rose Leombrone; and brothers, Danny, Frank and Louis Pandozzi.
Surviving are her daughters, Angela (Allan) Storinge of Clay, and Debbie (Bill) Zimpfer of Westvale; sons, Robert (Christine) Carbone of Clay and Kenneth Carbone of Solvay; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, January 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 28 in Holy Family Church. Jennie will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jennie to of CNY, 731 James St., Suite 200, Syracuse, NY 13203.
