Anthony A. “Butch” Rizzo, 71 of Newburgh, entered into rest January 9, 2016 due to complications of an automobile accident. The son of the late Andrew and Theresa (Allesandro) Rizzo, he was born August 15, 1944 in Brooklyn.
Butch was a truck driver for Local 445 and 707 in Newburgh. He enjoyed boating, traveling, fishing and cuisine, but most of all he loved his family. He will be missed but will live on in our hearts forever.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Susan Rizzo of New Windsor; his children: Andrew Rizzo of Newburgh, Anthony Rizzo of Cornwall, Richard Rizzo of Campbell Hall, and Gina Casholle of Gardiner; his brother, John Rizzo of Florida; his grandchildren: Anthony, Jonathan, Rebecca, Benjamin, Christopher and Abraham Rizzo, Joseph, Nicholas and Michael Casholle, Ashlyn and Noah Rizzo, and Dominic and Julianna Sands; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and godchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13 at the funeral home, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
