Adele S. “Sally” Maloney, a resident of Tuxedo Park, NY, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016. She was 88 years old. Daughter of the late Molly Turi, she was born January 13, 1927 in New York, NY. Sally was the widow of Thomas Maloney.
Formerly a resident of Manchester, NJ, she was an avid bridge player, an honored volunteer at Kimball Medical Center, and a winner of the NJ Senior Festival and Expo Talent Show in 1991 for her lip sync performance of Nelson Eddy with her partner doing Jeanette McDonald. This honor enabled them to appear at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. After this, the duo went on tour as “The Village People” providing entertainment to various clubs and organizations with new acts consisting of Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton and Simon and Garfunkle.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Maloney and his wife, May of Palm Desert, CA; her daughters: Michele Lulow and her husband, Bernie of Palm Desert, CA, Maureen Simnor and her husband, Matthew of Highland Mills, NY; and her four grandchildren: Josh, Andrea, Mollie and Shannon. Sally was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, January 18th at St. Patrick’s Church, 448 Rte 32, Highland Mills, NY. Interment will follow in William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at a later date.
