Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Magnumcare of Saginaw. Age 83 years. Son of the late Lawrence and Dulcia (Bump) Irwin, Robert was born January 17, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Robert married Audrey M. Bueter on October 31, 1953. She survives him. Robert was employed at Irwin & Associates in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Surviving besides his wife Audrey are a daughter, Teresa and Hans Hintzen, Chicago, Illinois; a son, Mark and Janet Iwin; a grandson, Mark Irwin II; a granddaughter Elizabeth and Bill Twsley; three great-grandchildren, Mark Irwin III, Emily Irwin and Sarah Irwin; a great-grandson, Coty Twsley; all of Louisville Kentucky; many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Irwin.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Burial will take place 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in St. John Evangelical Catholic Cemetery in Davison, Michigan. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
