Mary Ann Harper

Mary Ann Harper, 83 of Midland, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit. She was born October 1, 1932 in Pinconning, daughter of the late Josef and Mary (Pacinek) Putt. On July 15, 1953, she married Richard A. Harper at St. Brigid Catholic Church. Mary remained very active in the church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very involved with her grandchildren and her grandchildren’s lives. 


Mary is survived by her husband Richard of Midland, daughters Stephanie (Bryan) McIntyre of Shelby Township and Karen (Daniel) Pendell of Clarkston, grandchildren Quinn, Lily, and Liam McIntyre, and Jack and Abigail Pendell. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by brothers Theodore, Walter, Bernard, Karl, Henry, and Adam and sisters Genevieve, Helen, Stephanie, Valaria, and Florence. 

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 from the St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church. Father Robert Witkowski will act as celebrant. Rite of Committal will take place in New Calvary Mausoleum. Mary’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. with the Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. They will also receive friends at the church Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
