Lillian Mossner, 82, of Fairgrove, died Thursday morning, January 28, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born December 31, 1933 in Louisville, Alabama, daughter of the late Christopher Samuel and Effie (Green) Sheppard. On July 7, 1952 she was married to Arnold B. Mossner in Eufaula, Alabama. He predeceased her February 10, 2009. Mrs. Mossner helped her husband on the family farm and was a homemaker most of her life. Her greatest love was being with her family. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville, enjoyed crafts, her flowers she raised, reading, and watching QVC.
Surviving are her five sons and three daughters, Janie Arnott of Caro; Gerald Mossner and his special friend, Denise Nettleton , both of Saginaw; Lenora Steinley her husband Brian of Fairgrove; Kenneth Mossner and his special Friend Mary Miller, both of Caro; Carol Schnell and husband Mike of Vassar; Michael Mossner of Fairgrove; Charles Mossner and wife Lena of Caro; and Chris Mossner of Fairgrove; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Bruce Sheppard and wife Sandy of Dothan, Alabama; one sister, Peggy Shaw and husband Julian of Ozark, Alabama; and her special companion “Sparky”. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters and one granddaughter.
Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 from the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Rev. Rob Gadeken will officiate with burial to follow in the St. Michael’s Cemetery. Lillian’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. Reese, on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the services.
