Irene E. Bauer

Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Country Square Adult Foster Care Home age 93 years.  Irene was born on May 5, 1922 to the late Matthais & Katherine Lederer.  On May 13, 1944 she married Herbert Bauer.  She was a housewife and a lifelong farmer and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor).  She is survived by her son and daughter, Randy & Charlene (Krueger) Bauer and Judy & Gary Brandt, 3 granddaughters, Lynn & Lester Helm, Jodi Bullock & Ann Tanney, 3 great-grandchildren, Shannon, Peyton & Kolton.  She is also survived by her sisters, Elsie Schroeder & Arlene Mehl, brother-in-law, Edward Bauer, sisters-in-law, Beulah (Boots) Bauer, Dorothy Sinicki, Lois Martin & Florence Bauer, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert and her son, Dale Bauer, 3 brothers, Bill, Carl, & Clarence and 6 sisters, Laura, Dorothy, Emma, Violet, Margaret & Lois, and many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law.

Irene’s family would like to sincerely thank Cindy & Vickie for the wonderful care she received at Country Square AFC.  We would also like to thank the nurses and aides from McLaren Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Irene.


Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday January 18, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church (8 Mile and Salzburg Roads) Monitor Twp. Rev. David F. Sherry will officiate with burial to follow in Home Cemetery (Monitor Twp.). Irene’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. On Monday Irene will lie in state at the CHURCH from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor) and McLaren Hospice will be available.
