Gertrude R Lysogorski

Gertrude “Rita” Lysogorski, passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at the age of 99.
Born November 7, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John and Wladyslawa (Sobieski) Mijewski,  Gertrude married Joseph A. Lysogorski on May 20, 1944 at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit.   She and her husband Joseph raised their family on their 120 acre dairy farm in Arenac Township east of Standish.  Gertrude was skilled at crocheting, basket weaving, home canning and was very active in the MSU Extension Service, 4 H, and girls scouts while raising her children.  She was a member of the St Florian Catholic Church Choir for many years.  Gertrude retired from her job as an inspector at Standish Products in 1980.  She was preceded by her beloved husband, Joseph who passed at the age of 69 in 1983.   Gertrude was also preceded by one (1) brother,  six (6) sisters, her daughter Rose, her daughter-in-law Jean, two (2) grand children and one (1) great grandson.   She is survived by her son Leonard Lysogorski and special friend Margie of Saginaw, son Edward Lysogorski and his wife Mary of Bridgeport, daughter Sylvia Tenant and her husband Ronald of Paw Paw, daughter Angela Cox of Coldwater, ten (10) grandchildren, nineteen (19) great grandchildren and one (1) great-great grandson.   Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lee Ramsey Funeral Home, Standish Chapel, 127 N. Forest.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday January 11, 2016 with a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m.  Gertrude’s Funeral mass will be celebrated at Resurrection of Our Lord Church on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11am with Rev. Fr. David Parsch presiding with burial in Resurrection of the Lord Cemetery, 423 W. Cedar, Standish, Michigan.
