Eleanor Minnie Naffien, age 85, of Sebewaing, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe.
Eleanor was born September 1, 1930, in Unionville, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Flossie N. (Grassman) Ruppert. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, former member of the Caseville Eagles, retired from General Cable in Cass City, helped her former husband in there general contracting business, enjoyed decorating cakes, gardening, fishing, boating, canning, baking and listening to polka music.
Eleanor is survived by her children: Carol Haag of Caro, Curtis (Marla) Haag of Adel, GA, Linda (Arthur) LaForest of Cass City, and Dennis (Judith) Haag of Lenox; step daughters: Diane Naffien of Midland and Karyn (Brian) Randall of West Branch; sister: Marion (Larry) Smith of Caro; grandchildren: Vicki (Eric) Crumby, Samuel (Julie) Haag, Philip (Sarah) Nieschulz, Brian (Roxanne) Nieschulz, Gail (Stuart) Wilkinson, Ryan (Rachel) Haag, Christopher (Jessica) Haag and Adam Haag; step grandchildren: Matt, Nate and Kaitlin Randall; and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three husbands: Herman Haag, William P. Brady and Elmer Naffien.
Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.
The funeral service will be Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.
