Carl W. “Slip” Dryer

Carl W. “Slip” Dryer 65 years of Midland died unexpectedly Thursday morning January 7, 2016 from an apparent heart attack while working in Linden. Carl was born on August 2, 1950 in Muskegon, son of the late Harry and Helen (Andersen) Dryer.


 Carl or “Slip” as he was known attended Bullock Creek schools graduating from high school there. He worked as a lineman for over 40 years, currently working for BFD. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycles, pitching horseshoes, darts and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He truly loved working as a lineman.  Carl was a member of the Sanford Eagles Aerie # 3677 and Moose Lodge # 2519.


He is survived  by three daughters, Chelsea (Luke) Reder, Alyssa Dryer, Tiffani Dryer, three brothers, Jim “LJ” (Brenda) Dryer, Tim Dryer, Dave (Dawn) Dryer, two sisters, Ann “Pink” (Bob) Sova, Helen “Sis” ( Dave) Derks. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Berkley Reder, Jase Reder, Mason Jammer and by two sisters-in-law, Lynne Dryer and Deb Dryer, and by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Dryer Jr.


 Funeral Services for Carl will take place at 2:00 P.M. Monday January 11, 2016 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home 1200 W. Wheeler St. Pastor Allen Campbell of Northpoint Ministries will officiate. Carl’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and on Monday from 12:00 Noon until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Carl’s family.
