Arlene went to her heavenly home Thursday morning January 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness at the age of 94 years. Arlene was born September 29, 1921 in Freeland, MI to the late Edward and Amelia (Bieser) Schmidt. Arlene has lived in this area all of her life.  Arlene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith which she loved very dearly, she was very active when she was able. Arlene was an avid card player and loved to bake. On June 10, 1945 Arlene married Clarence E. Zoellner, he predeceased her on May 2, 2004. Arlene loved her family and  is survived by her five children; Caroline (Donald) McCann of Bay City, Melvin (JoAnn) Zoellner of Saginaw, Clemens (Denise) Zoellner of Bay City, Jane (Larry) Geiger of Traverse City, Gilbert (Barbara) Zoellner of Traverse City. Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive Arlene. Arlene was predeceased by a sister;  Edna Foerster

Funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday January 18, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith. Rev. Stephen P. Starke will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St.,Freeland on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
