Armantine McCallister Leggett

Miss Armantine McCallister Leggett of South Boston passed away on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at her home. She was born in Halifax County on Aug. 21, 1934 and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Robert Alexander Leggett Sr. and Effie Wall Leggett.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Thomas C. Leggett Sr., and wife Leona of Halifax; two nieces, Deborah Wesslen of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Leigh L. Moore and husband Ronnie of Halifax; two nephews, Kenneth Alexander Leggett of Richmond and Robert A. Leggett III and wife Amy of Cary, North Carolina; caretakers Frances Martin of Scottsburg and Mattie Carr of Scottsburg.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Robert A. Leggett Jr., and one nephew, Thomas C. Leggett Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Frakes conducting the service.
