EASTON — Russell Edward Kirwan went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 10, 2017. He passed away at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton. He was 85.
Russell was born on Oct. 12, 1931, in Cambridge, Md., to the late Ralph and Mildred (Foxwell) Kirwan.
Russell was a 1949 graduate of St. Michaels High School in St. Michaels, Md., and proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Airman from January 1951 through December, 1954
Russell was employed by C&P Telephone Co., which later became Verizon; first as a lineman and later as a manager. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #5118 and a member of the American Legion Post #91 in Cambridge, Md.
He is survived by his sister-In-Law, Ethel Kirwan of Easton, Md.; nieces, Candi Kirwan, Jacki and Rob Carels, daughters Taelor, Kaleigh, and Camryn; Judy and Denny Risher, sons Micah and Matthew; Millie and Brian Brown, daughters, Jessica and Jamie; Phyllis and Jack Peddicord, daughters, Teresa and Patty Ann, and a niece, Cecelia. Nephews, Phil Kirwan Jr. and children, Jennifer, Philip III and Zachary; Benjamin and Debbie Kirwan, son Benjamin III, daughter Debbie; Mike and Dee Kirwan, sons Chris and Shaun. He also leaves behind a great friend, Jim Blades.
Russell is predeceased by his siblings Benjamin Kirwan Sr., Percy Kirwan, Frank Kirwan, Kathleen Patchett, Phil Kirwan Sr. and Ralph Kirwan Jr.
Family will receive friends at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. A service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
