Dr. Feodor “Ted” Caguin, a retired general surgeon who practiced in Charles Village for many years, died Dept. 9 of complications from Parkinson’s disease at the College Manor assisted-living facility. The Lutherville resident was 84.

Our mother, Wilda Virginia (Reed) Merckle, was born on Oct. 14th, 1922, in Hagerstown, Md., the daughter of Reuben W. and Ida M. (Riley) Reed, and died at Homewood, Williamsport, Md., on Sept. 11, 2017.

She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1940 and became the bride of Claude O. Merckle on Dec. 7th, 1941. They shared over 60 years of marriage until his death in 2002.
