Nathan King, 42, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at his home.
Nathan was born June 11, 1975, in Flemington, N.J., the son of Stanley and Nancy Elizabeth McClung King of Falling Waters, W.Va.
He was a graduate of Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington.
During his life, he served the communities in which he lived.
Nathan was a member of the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad. In 1998, he responded to 307 calls for a total of 402 hours as a volunteer member. In 2007, he moved to Berkeley Springs. From 2007 until 2017, he continued to serve his community by working as a correctional officer with the Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg at the rank of corporal. He then worked with the Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford, Va., at the rank of sergeant.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jeffrey King of Hagerstown, Md.; and his golden retriever, Yager.
Services and interment will be private.
