Wesley E. Tucker, 80, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Pontiac, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac. Rev. Tom Goodell will officiate.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday, April 3.
Wesley was born March 8, 1935, in Ransom, to Clement and Bernice “Tiny-Ma” Tucker. He married Jean Burton on May 10, 1956. She survives in Arizona.
Also surviving are his children, Debra Roberts, Mary (Rick) Kirk, Vikki Morley (Scott) Smith, all of Arizona, Tammy (Chris Bright) Sauls of North Carolina; his brothers, Orrin (Barb) Tucker, Streator, Charles “Smut” (Gail) Tucker, Dauphin Island, Ala.; a sister, Kathy Tucker, Odell; his grandchildren, Jason Hoover, Michele Hoover, Nathan Alltop, Kyle (Rachel) Alltop, Connor Morley, Colton Morley, Johnathan (Jackie) Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter, Angela Carpenter and Eric Sauls; his great-grandchildren, Ethan Hoover, Reed Hoover, Lincoln Hoover, Kaden Alltop, Aubree Alltop, Jason Carpenter, Evelyn Wood, Khloie Wood and Ian Sauls.
His parents and three brothers, James, Bob and Joe, preceded him in death.
Wesley was raised in the Pontiac area, was a retired Pontiac Police officer, volunteer firefighter and animal control officer. As the local Santa, he loved spreading the Christmas spirit throughout the area for many years, before retiring in Arizona.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pontiac. He loved John Wayne and was a very patriotic man.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
