Victor Thomas Ceresa, 88, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed into the arms of our Lord at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home on Jan. 10, 2016.
Private family services are planned. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, La Salle. Arrangements are by D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home.
Born in Dalzell, he graduated from St. Bede Academy. Victor served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan. He retired from Illinois Bell, now AT&T, after 37 years of service. While employed with Bell, he was awarded the second-highest company honor, The Theodore Newton-Vail Bronze Medal, for saving the life of another.
He had a special love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his two sons, Allen (Rhonda) Ceresa and Jeffery (Barbara) Ceresa; daughter, Cynthia (Mark) Chappuis, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and brothers Peter of Peru and Leroy of Phoenix, Ariz.
