Sheckler, Mr. Robert B.

GLADSTONE – Mr. Robert B. Sheckler, 87, Gladstone, died at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, in Rosewood Care Center.
He was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Hanna City, the son of Everett S. and Mary O. Swadinsky Sheckler. He married Gloria R. Stanbary Pedigo in Kimberling, Missouri, on March 18, 1983. She survives.
Also surviving are his three sons, Robert Sheckler of Hanna City, Mark (and Kathy) Sheckler of Lumberton, Texas, and David Sheckler of Galesburg; a stepdaughter, Jean (and Rocky) Warta of Greeley, Colorado; two stepsons, Tom (and Cathy) Pedigo of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tim (and Marsha) Pedigo of Galesburg; his sister, Ila Wagner of Brimfield; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters.
Robert served in the Army during World War II for two years. He worked as a steamfitter and pipefitter for 38 years, retiring on Nov. 1, 1982. He was a member of the Mohammed Shrine in Peoria.
Graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dennis McQuown will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to . Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
