Kay Hopwood, 62, of St. Peters, MO, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 in her home. She was born November 25, 1953 in Nicholasville, KY, the daughter of the late Garth W. Grubbs & Katherine Brock Stivers.
She was a member of the Winds of Pentecost Church, St. Charles, MO. She had worked as Director of a Children’s Education Program.
Kay Grubbs and Rodney Charles Hopwood were united in marriage on June 18, 1977 in Lexington, KY. He preceded her on December 2, 2013.
She is survived by her children: Bethany Shaerill Neufarth & husband Jeff, St. Peters, MO; Shanna Rae Gregory & husband Dallas, Springfield, IL; and Scottilynn Tennille Scott & husband Keith, Keysport, IL; 8 grandchildren: Olivia, Jaida, Ronan, Lydia, Orin, Abigail, Miriam, Shayla; brothers: Steve Newton, Anthony Newton, Rick Newton; and sisters: Susie Riley, Lisa Napier. She was preceded by her sister, Teresa Daugherty.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 in First United Pentecostal Church, Pana at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. James McGee, Rev. Tom Trimble, and Rev. Paul Freese officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
