Gloria Gladys Frick Ferguson, 83, went to heaven on Jan. 11, 2016. She was a resident of Ackley, Iowa, and formerly of East Moline.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m., at the Durant Cemetery. The Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born July 14, 1932, to Henry and Selma Frick in Durant. She loved her family of two daughters and three sons, Joyce Erickson, Moline, David and Debbie Kondora, Aurora, Colo., Terry and Vicki Kondora, Ackley, Ricky Wilson (deceased), Penny and David Timmons, Coal Valley; including her grandchildren, Michael Erickson, Kimberly Kondora and Taylor Kondora. She shared a deep love for her sisters, Phyllis Frick, Burlington Iowa, and Jane Moeller, Davenport, and also for her brother, LeRoy “Sonny” Frick, who was killed in action during the Korean War. Her love extended to many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and four half-siblings, Eddie, Harvey and Donald Frick and Arlene Cole.
Gloria was a Christian woman and worked hard all of her life. She gave of herself as a volunteer to numerous community organizations throughout her lifetime. She was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 2153, Moline.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Lutheran Social Services of Illinois designated to the In-Touch Adult Day Care Services program. This program gave her much joy and freedom to thrive among friends and activities.
