Cleo Kenneth Jostes
June 21, 1918 – December 18, 2015
Cleo Kenneth Jostes, 97, of Rosamond, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:35 p.m. in his home. He was born June 21, 1918 in Christian County to Ralph and Esther Herwig Jostes. He married Marcella Mae Cooper on September 21, 1941 at South Fork United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death July 21, 2014.
Cleo attended Greely Grade School and Nokomis High School. He lived his entire life in the Ohlman vicinity. He was a farmer, dairyman, Noble Bear and LG Seed Salesman and a 25 year Archer Oil Salesman. He was a faithful and oldest member of South Fork United Methodist Church where he served on the board of trustees, communion usher and various other committees. The past several years attending Sunday School and Church were the highlights of his week.
Cleo is survived by two daughters, Dixie (Lee) Aumann of Rosamond and Penny Darst (Tim Shields) of Donnelly, Idaho; three grandchildren, Jill Ade, Julie (Mark) Heaton of Moweaqua and Jason (Sondra) Darst of Meridian, Idaho; six great-grandchildren, Bryce Ade of Normal, Reece Ade of Pana, Tori Ade of Moweaqua, Allie Heaton of Normal, Connor Heaton of Moweaqua and Landon Darst of Meridian, Idaho, two step great grandchildren, Mayson and Kade Lippert of Meridian, Idaho; one sister-in-law, Lois Jostes of Pana, several nieces and nephews and cousin Leona Henschen of Pana. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald in infancy, Victor and Lyle, sister Jean Ann Johnson, wife Marcella and grandson-in-law Brian Ade.
Funeral services will be at South Fork United Methodist Church, rural Nokomis at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 with Pastors Betty Coffey and Ric Miles officiating. Burial will be in Ohlman Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials may be given to South Fork United Methodist Church or Pana Community Hospital Foundation.
