Norma S. Bell, 74, of Grayson, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James Terrell Bell; parents, Lon Hoover and Cleo (Gonce) Shelton; and brother-in-law, George McDonald.
Norma is survived by her children, Kevin Bell (Wendy), of Monroe, Eric Bell (Donna), of Grayson, and Karen Turner (Eric), of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Julie Smith (Cody), Kayla Turner, Mercer Thompson (Hannah), Trevor Bell, Mike Turner, Miranda Bell, Kimberly Turner, and Jason Bell; four great-grandchildren, Kenzie Smith, Joseph Thompson, Bentley Lew and Nora Thompson; two sisters, Sharon McDonald of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Linda McGill (Lynn) of Franklin, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Bell grew up in Shelbyville and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. She was talented at drawing, always musically inclined, a longtime member of her church choir and enjoyed singing with her sisters. She loved flowers and bird watching and traveling, and was a voracious reader and master crossword solver. Norma was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband were founding members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lilburn.
Funeral services in honor of Mrs. Bell will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Minister Lester Waters officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Buckhead Cemetery in Morgan County.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 17, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans and the American Kidney Foundation.
