Richard Thomas Galloway, 92, of Panama City, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
He was born July 20, 1923 in Geneva County, Alabama. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor degree and from Florida State University with a Master’s degree. He was a Physicist at the Naval Coastal System Station retiring in 1979. After retirement, he taught Math at Gulf Coast Community College for 9 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City, where he was a longtime adult Sunday School teacher and was a Deacon Emeritus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher & Johnnie Galloway; four sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Galloway; 3 daughters, Elaine Johnson (Tommy); Patti Klinck (Chris);Margaret Benedix (Don); 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Panama City with Rev. Clyde Ellison and his nephew, Rev. Moody Faulk officiaiting. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church.
