McGhee, Gloria Marie was ushered into the presence of the Lord Jesus on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, surrounded by family at home. Gloria was born February 11, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri. She met lifelong love Patrick McGhee in elementary school in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from Shawnee Mission High School (now Shawnee Mission North) where they began dating, then married June 1961 in Kansas City. She was employed at Hallmark, then after raising two daughters at home worked at Valley View Bank and Shawnee Mission East and West High School offices. A move to southern California led to employment at Saddleback Valley USD. After retirement, a 2005 relocation to Weatherford, Texas placed them near family and she and Patrick became active members of Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, where many cherished friendships grew. Gloria reveled in planning trips, even taking family to Alaska for their 50th wedding anniversary. Her huge smile preceded an automatic hug for everyone she greeted. She displayed sincere kindness and integrity, always putting others before herself, and her gratitude to the Lord for His blessings caused her cheerfully view any task as “a privilege.” Gloria was preceded in death by parents, Roger and Bonita Nolan Sr. and sister, Joan Heisler. She is survived by husband, Patrick McGhee of Weatherford, Texas; her daughter, Laurie and husband Dr. Bill Egner with sons Stephen and Josiah of Aledo, Texas; her daughter, Karen and husband Jose McGhee-Nario of New York; brother, Roger Jr. and wife Kathy Nolan of California; extended family and numerous friends.
