Manuel was born in Saltdale, Ca, to Augustine and Severa Soto. He had 11 brothers and sisters who all preceded him in death.
Manuel was proud to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from April 1951 to Feb 1953.
He married Virginia Pitts on May 8, 1955. He had several jobs but his favorites were working for the Golden Crust Bakery and the Bakersfield City School District from which he retired after 26 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia, son Bryon and wife Stacy, daughter Vicki and Matt Klohn, daughter Lori, 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Manuel loved shooting pool, visiting Randsburg, Ca where he grew up, and spending time laughing with family and friends.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 14th, 2016, 2pm, at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA.
