November 7, 1924 — January 10, 2016
Aurin, Ina A. “Shorty/Great” was the most loving, caring, selfless, strong woman we have ever known, who entered eternal life on Sunday January 10, 2016. Her spirit is carried on by her three children, Robert Aurin (wife Debra), Arlene Barnes, and Nikki Aurin; four grandchildren, Bobby (wife Carrie), Danny, Jimmy (wife Teffany), and Heather; seven great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Bianca, Hannah, Sarah, Alexxa, Madison, and Danny Jr., with two great-great-grandchildren, Jayda and Carter. She is now reunited with her loving husband of over 48 years, Austin “Al/Dad Dad” Aurin. We are blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from Ina during her 91 years. Her bond and commitment to her family was so very strong and unbreakable.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin to all in the families, our hearts will never be empty just knowing she, Dad Dad, and our Lord will be watching over us all. The short (that is where Shorty came from), meek, mild mannered lady that she was, had a strength like no other. Working hard in her youth at the Pentagon, raising three children and the gaggle of grandchildren, her grace, love, and determination never wavered.
Many of you know she was quite the dancer, seamstress, and baker. She never really learned how to use her answering machine and loved to watch Judge Judy, and her favorite color was blue.
In loving memory, Ina’s service will be held Friday, January 15, 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest in the Celebration of Life Building, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA 93313; 661-834-8820.
