Janine was called by the Lord during her sleep on Friday morning after a courageous seven year fight with cancer. Told at discovery she might live a year, she gave herself to Jesus and lived seven. Her husband Brian was at her side tending to her as she passed. Former residents of Antioch, and members of St. Ignatius Church, they moved to Rio Vista in 2002 and were active members of St. Joseph Church. A member of the choir, Janine enjoyed teaching children of the goodness of the Lord in faith formation classes. She retired from Bank of America shortly after moving to Trilogy in Rio Vista and spent the last several years trying to assist in the operation of two recovery homes in Fairfield. After 40 yrs. of marriage, she is survived by her adoring husband Brian, son Russell (Lodi), daughter Dr. Shannon Brown(Oakland), and step-children John (Sacramento), CNO Joann Saporito (Oakdale), and Michael (Fresno), and brothers James (Milpitas), Michael (Medford), and Richard (Lodi) Lacy and each of their families. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ann Lacy, Sister Donna Sandy, and Brothers Tom and Terry Lacy.
The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 15th at 11 am at St. Joseph church followed by interment at Rio Vista Catholic cemetery and a life celebration at Church’s Hall. A period for viewing and sharing will be held on Thurs. Jan 14 from noon-3 pm at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield at 1850 W. Texas St. In lieu of donations, prayers for those who are sick would be her greatest wish.
