Lilli, a loving wife, mother, business owner, and chef passed away in Walnut Creek on Thursday, January 7, 2016. She was a resident of Danville for over 30 years before moving to Crockett briefly in 2001, and then Walnut Creek in 2006. Lilli was born in Copenhagen, Denmark to Olga and Fredrik Larsen, and lived there until 1959 when she met and married her beloved Capt. Julian T. Bollinger, USN. Following their marriage they were stationed in various locations: Boston, MA, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Mare Island, CA, and finally settled in Danville, CA.
A very creative person, Lilli enjoyed knitting, gardening, and listening to music (especially Frank Sinatra). Most of all, she took great pride in preparing gourmet culinary feasts and loved feeding her family and friends. Known as an avid animal lover, dogs held a special place in her heart. Lilli lived and loved through her family, and has now joined her husband of 37 years in heaven.
She is survived by her children Michael (Vilma) Bollinger, Steen Davids, and Kim (Dave) Bridges; daughter-in-law Sonia Bollinger; grandchildren, Dean Bollinger, John (Tiffany) Bollinger, Nicole (Ed) Reginelli, Jason (Gaylyn) Bollinger, Erik (Kerry) Davids, David Bridges III, Devon Bridges, and Julianna Bridges; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. Lilli is predeceased by her brothers Walter Larsen and Fleming Larsen, and daughter-in-law Lisa Davids. Her fiery spirit for life will be missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at 10 AM on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at Hull’s Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave., Walnut Creek, CA 94595 with burial to follow at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may send memorial donations to “Go Red for Women” to help fight women’s heart disease.
