Ann V. Bartram, age 90, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on November 26, 2015, in Richmond, CA. She was a native of Point Richmond and long-time resident of El Cerrito.
She attended Washington Elementary School and Richmond High School where she played trumpet in the band. She then graduated from UC Berkeley & SF State with several degrees and credentials in Education for both Elementary & Secondary Teaching and Administration. Ann devoted her life to the classroom as a teacher at Portola Jr. High, teaching in the Richmond / West Contra Costa Unified School District for 38 years.
She & her husband, Bruce, enjoyed cooking and entertaining, swimming, hiking, tennis and travel.
She is survived by her daughter and husband, Suzanne and Neil Owens, grand-daughter Sarah Wilson, great grandson Lucas Ibarra and sister-in-law Beverly Bartram. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Bartram; parents, John and Viola (Camos) Vloeberghs; brother, Jerome Vloeberghs.
Private graveside services were held.
The family asks that any remembrances in Ann’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA).
