Following his Honorable Discharge, Bill received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill.
Bill became a Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff where he served for thirteen years. He and his wife Sidney Sue, with their oldest son Rusty, moved to a farm in Scotts Mills, Oregon where Bill became a city police officer and a rancher. After a few years and two more children, he changed jobs and worked for Boise Cascade for over ten years. Missing his childhood home, he and his second wife Susie moved to Concord, where he worked for USS-POSCO Industries, retiring after twenty years.
Bill enjoyed being a Little League Coach in Concord and Silverton, Oregon. One of his greatest pleasures, outside of his family, was his membership in The Improved Order of Redmen.
