Joaquin Alves Sr., 95, died peacefully at home on January 4, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 1,1920 in Rodeo, CA to Joseph and Anna Maria Alves. He was the middle child of 3 children. Joaquin served in the 2nd Air Base Depot Squadron in the Army during World War II. He received a Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal. He worked as a Carpenter for Local 152 for 40 years and was a member in the Northern California Carpenters Union for 65 years. His favorite past times were gardening and going to Portuguese Holy Ghosts with friends. He is survived by his wife, Bea Charvez, daughter, Anna Buckley, daughter in law, Michaele Alves, son in law and daughter in law, Raymond & Donna Charvez, grandchildren, Stephanie Boomgarden(Brandon), Rojin Urritia, Paris Alves, Tara Alves, Justin Wagoner, Dylan Wagoner, Kevin Wagoner and Lindsey Charvez, 7 great grandchildren and sister Mary Rodriguez. Joaquin is preceded in death by his father and mother, the mother of his children, Elsie Alves, his son, Joaquin Alves Jr. and his brother, Joe Alves. The funeral service will be held on Saturday Jan 9, 2016 at 10am at Hosselkus Chapel 1 Rolph Park Dr., Crockett, CA 94525. Interment Burial to follow at 11:30am at St. Joseph Cemetery at 2540 Church Ln, San Pablo, CA 94806.
