Sept. 30, 1985 ~ Jan. 22, 2016
Resident of Hayward
Engelberto Fabian Abellana III, “Fabian”, entered into eternal rest peacefully the morning of January 22nd, 2015 after a heroic battle against cancer, he was 30 years old.
Born September 30, 1985, to Rose and Engelberto Abellana, in San Francisco, Fabian was the eldest of seven children (Bernadette, Felicity, Vivian, John, Flavious, Luke). To them, he was a role model brother, support system, confidant and best friend.
Fabian attended Saint Roberts (c/o ’99) in San Bruno, Burlingame High (c/o ’03) and finally San Francisco State University (c/o ’11) where he met his first and only love, his wife Charlene. Together, although only for a brief time, they lived, laughed and loved enough to fill a lifetime. His greatest gift to her and his family was the birth of their daughter Isabella Aria, his pride and joy and the embodiment of all the good he had to offer the world.
Wise beyond his years, Fabian chose to have relentless hope and saw the world with the untarnished view of a child. Above all, he regarded his faith in the Lord and his love for his family as the driving forces in his life, and as he fought valiantly against cancer, he never stopped believing in miracles.
We will forever find him at the beach watching the sunset, exploring the world with his “Angels”, organizing pick-up games, playing Mario Cart 64, yelping new restaurants and napping with his daughter, all the while having a pure and genuine smile on his face as if he were holding the most beautiful secret.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Monday, February 1st with the visitation from 4-8:30pm and the vigil at 7:00 pm at Holy Angels Funeral Center 1051 Harder Rd. Hayward. The funeral Mass will be held February 2nd at 10:30 am at All Saints Catholic Church, Hayward, with interment at Holy Sepulchre, Hayward.
