SIERRA VISTA — Shirley Ann Puttkammer, 84, went to be with her heavenly father on Sept. 9, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona.
Shirley was born in Wisconsin to James and Lucy Clayton, the second of three children. Following graduation from high school, Shirley and her family moved to Madison, Wisconsin where she worked at University Hospital as an administrative professional. She married her next-door neighbor, Paul, and embarked on a new chapter in her life. Paul was in the U.S. Army and he and Shirley moved to France. They decided to make the military a career, and with her support and encouragement, they spent the next 23 years traveling around the globe before eventually settling down in Sierra Vista, where she spent the last 17 years of her beautiful life.
She was a wonderful, friendly person who never knew a stranger. She loved to bake and decorate, and Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved dogs and her favorites were toy poodles and really, anything she could cuddle. Her favorite activities were bowling and golf and she was a devout Green Bay Packers football fan.
Shirley was active in her church and really enjoyed tutoring kids and and visiting elderly shut-ins. Her smiling face and friendly voice will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; her son, Jeff, his wife Lindy, and four beautiful grandchildren, Kelsey, Greg, Jake, and Sydney.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church on Sept. 29, 2017 at 10 a.m., followed by a reception. Memorials can be sent to the City of Sierra Vista, Memo Nancy J. Brua Animal Center.https://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/myheraldreview.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/5/16/51658416-9fdf-11e7-9936-2ba76aeabfde/59c584a04845c.image.jpg?crop=477,630,158,32&resize=300,396&order=crop,resize#You can find the complete original obituary on this website.
