Lael J Tennyson, 60, left us to explore other realms on September 4, 2017. Most recently a resident of Winslow, Lael lived in Flagstaff from early 1990 until April 1997. During that time she was employed by the Days Inn, The Arboretum at Flagstaff, JoAnn Fabrics and Holmes Cleaners. She was also a certified Master Gardner and helped create the Old Town Plaza landscape. Prior to living in Flagstaff, she had moved to Prescott in 1978 to work as a wildland firefighter, one of the first women to be hired for this position on the Prescott NF.
A gifted and expressive artist, she displayed her talents through weaving, painting, creating soft sculptures, designing and sewing clothing and many other multi-hued explorations. She was a Level 2 practitioner of Reiki and practiced as an Energy Therapist, being also certified in the personal energy healing arts of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Meridian tapping and Access Bars. Her most recent employment was as a fabric construction technician with Flagstaff River Equipment/Wet Dreams River Supply in Flagstaff.
Lael loved paddling her kayak, sewing colorful and unique apparel, tending the flowers in her yard, traveling the western US and long quiet walks in the woods with friends and family.
She is survived by her loving partner of 37 years Paul “Zeke” Lauck, Mickey T. Dogg, aunt Ruth, sisters Zoe and Raven, bother Neil and niece Luna. A memorial gathering is being planned for the Spring.
